The parenting advice starts pouring in the second you announce you are expecting your little bundle of joy. It quickly become apparent that your life is about to change forever and the first few months are no picnic. "Get your sleep now. You wont be getting much of that soon." you hear. The same can be said for romance. If you are already a parent and are expecting another child, you can truly appreciate this piece of advice.

Our New Beach Getaways

Cultural tours in the beautiful colonial city of Merida is at the heart of what we do but there is just something about the beach that inspires just as much.  Perhaps its the sea breeze blowing through our hair as all of our everyday stresses melt away or perhaps its the stunning turquoise waters of the Mexican carribbean that gently remind us to take care of ourselves for a change.

We all have goals and we all have dreams but there is something about the beginning of a new year that fills us with hope.  Its a fresh start and a grand opportunity to make them come true. Hence, the new years resolution.  Like everyone else, I have made resolutions only to forget them before Feb. rolled around.

Ode to MexicaChica

They say imitation is the best form of flattery...and I agree but a poem written just for you is right up there in my book. Our last wonderful group of gals had such a great time during their visit that they decided to some write some prose during a night out on the town together. I'm as flattered as I am astounded at their creativity. 

They pieced together portions of their experience here with us to form a fun poem that has me smiling proudly. I'd like to share it here.

Mexico's Bicentennial Celebration

Mexico just celebrated its bicentennial on September 16th, an event known as "El Grito," the shout for independence first credited to Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Catholic priest, who demanded freedom from Spain.

Homun Adventure

Homun adventure...and when I say adventure. I mean it! Dont get me wrong. Getting there and back was smooth sailin' but what ensued in this tiny little Yucatecan town in the middle of nowhere, I will not soon forget.
